Sustainable Performance
ECONYL® Regenerated Yarn
100% recycled nylon made from ocean nets and industrial waste. Same durability as virgin fiber — with a smaller footprint.
What is ECONYL®?
ECONYL® is a regenerated nylon yarn made entirely from waste materials — fishing nets recovered from oceans, fabric scraps, carpet waste, and industrial plastic that would otherwise pollute the environment.
Through a patented regeneration process, these waste materials are broken down and reconstructed into nylon yarn that's chemically identical to virgin nylon. Same molecular structure. Same durability. Same performance in high-traffic environments.
Select Enhanced Entrance mats feature ECONYL® yarn in their pile construction, delivering the wear resistance facility managers need while supporting circular material flows.
The ECONYL® Regeneration Process
From waste to high-performance yarn in four steps.
Rescue
Waste nylon is collected from oceans (fishing nets), landfills (carpet waste), and industrial sources worldwide.
Regenerate
Through depolymerization, waste nylon is broken down to its original molecular building blocks — caprolactam.
Remake
Purified caprolactam is repolymerized into new nylon 6 yarn, identical in quality to virgin material.
Reimagine
ECONYL® yarn is woven into entrance mat pile, creating durable surfaces that protect your facility.
What This Means for Your Facility
Performance you can count on, with sustainability you can document.
No Performance Compromise
ECONYL® is chemically identical to virgin nylon 6. Same abrasion resistance, same color retention, same durability in heavy commercial traffic.
Documented Impact
Every square metre of ECONYL® mat saves more than 5 kg CO₂ equivalent versus virgin nylon — a measurable data point for ESG reporting.
Ocean Waste Recovery
Ghost fishing nets are among the most harmful ocean pollutants. ECONYL® creates economic value from recovery, funding ongoing cleanup efforts.
Circular Material Flow
ECONYL® can be regenerated infinitely without quality loss. The nylon in your entrance mat could become carpet, swimwear, then matting again.
Third-Party Verified
ECONYL® environmental claims are independently verified. No greenwashing — just documented, auditable material sourcing.
LEED Contribution
Recycled content materials support LEED credits for Materials & Resources. Documentation available for certification submissions.
